Any student that was issued a temporary drop-off pass for a medical reason, the passes expire Friday, December 11. With the completion of the new parking lot, drop-off passes are no longer needed and students should be dropped off by the Dining Commons doors.

BookPALS is meeting this TODAY, December 10, from 6:45-7:30 a.m. Room 247 in the Learning Commons! All are welcome to come to this informational meeting to learn about BookPALS. We are partnering with the Everett School in Dorchester, and interested students will be reading to young elementary school children. It is fun! Questions? Stop by and see Dr. Cicchetti in the Learning Commons!

Infinity and Pashmina Scarves For Sale – only $12 each The Denmark Exchange group is selling Pashmina and Infinity scarves!  $12 each and they make great gifts. We accept cash or checks made out to “Denmark Exchange.” Look for us selling scarves at after school sales on TODAY, and December 17 and during lunch blocks December 18-23. 

Class of 2017 – All Juniors (students only) are scheduled to meet with their counselors this week for the initial post-secondary-planning process. A letter was mailed home with the meeting time. The Concord Carlisle Theater Company proudly presents William Shakespeare’s Othello Friday, December 11 and Saturday, December 12 at 7pm with a matinee on Sunday, December 13 at 2pm. CCHS DRIVER EDUCATION LESSON LOCATION Starting Monday, December 14, your Driver Ed teacher and car will meet you at the curb on the north, first floor side of the building (facing the Beede Center), as near to the C17 door, community entrance (and dining commons), as possible.  

ACTORS! TECHIES! And the GENERALLY CURIOUS!!  AUDITIONS for the CCHS Competitive One Act Play Mnemonic are Wednesday December 16 from 2:30 – 5:00. All levels welcome, no preparation necessary, you must be there for the whole audition time (2:30 – 5:00) as it is an ensemble audition. WARRIORS 4 WARRIORS/PATRIOTS 4 PATRIOTS GIRLS & BOYS HOCKEY GAMES, DECEMBER 19.  Hockey is back! Save the date for 4th annual CCHS vs. Lincoln-Sudbury hockey games on Saturday, December 19. Girls’ game at 4pm, Boys’ game at 6pm at the New England Sports Center. Featuring CCHS’s own vocalist, opening ceremony with color guard, raffle baskets, chuck-a-duck contest, and a mite scrimmage game between periods. All proceeds benefit the 1st Lt. Scott F. Milley Ranger Foundation. Wristband tickets are for entry to both games – $5 in advance and may be purchased from the girls’ team. Game day tickets are $7.  GO PATRIOTS!

CCHS Driver Education: December Recess class The 5-day class meets on December 26 and December 28-31, 9:00 am to 3:30 pm. CCHS Driver Ed includes the classroom session (30 hours), 12 hours of driving scheduled individually for each student (after school, weekends), observation, and a parent class. Fee $739 includes RMV certification. Students must be 15 years 9 months of age to begin the classroom portion.

CCHS Driver Education: Parent Class The next parent class meets on Tuesday, December 15, 7-9 PM, CCHS. The fee for the entire program is $700. RMV fees are not included.

SAT Preparation CCHS Community Education hosts several SAT and ACT prep classes this winter. The next SAT class begins on December 17 with a diagnostic test, 6-9:30 pm. The class then meets for 5 more Thursday nights, January 7 through February 4. $635 fee. Sign up by Friday, December 11 at ace.colonial.net, course #3665, or call 978-318-1432.

Join Youth in Philanthropy! If you enjoy volunteering, charity work, and want to learn the process for giving and receiving grant money, including giving away $10000 to a charity chosen by the group, then fill out this application or see Mr. Jones (Social Studies office, Room 320) if you have questions. The club normally meets on Tuesday’s from 5-6:30pm beginning in January. Please contact Mr. Jones if you have any questions. Applications are due Friday December 22!

IEP BASIC RIGHTS Workshop – January 14, 2016, 7-9 pm, CCHS Learning Commons. Is your child/teen on an IEP? Free Trial Lessons at The Concord Conservatory of Music! Do you want to learn a new instrument, or take your playing to the next level? Give The Concord Conservatory of Music (CCM) a try—on CCM! Starting December 7 through December 12, CCM is offering free introductory trial lessons for many instruments—voice, flute, clarinet, saxophone, cello, violin, piano, guitar, bass, and percussion. Lesson times range from early afternoon to evening Monday through Friday, and Saturday morning and afternoon. Come check out CCM’s musical community! From concerts, lectures, “practice for pizza” contests, student recitals, to its new student mentor program, CCM will help you take your playing up a notch—or inspire you to begin a new instrument.
